Our Board

The Victoria Chinatown Care Society (VCCS) organized and incorporated in September 1980 with the objective of constructing a Care Centre located within the Chinese community. Through the efforts of our Board of Directors, the City of Victoria, and the Province of B.C., the current Victoria Chinatown Care Centre officially opened in 1982. Since that time, VCCS have prided themselves on providing 24-hour resident-centred care for those who call our Centre home, most of whom are of Chinese descent.

維多利亞華埠護理協會（VCCS）於1980年9月成立並註冊，旨在於華人社區內打造一座護理設施。在我們董事會、維多利亞市及不列顛哥倫比亞省的共同努力下，維多利亞華埠護理中心於1982年正式啟用。自那時起，VCCS自豪於為居住在我們中心的居民提供24小時以居民為中心的護理服務，其中大多數居民為華裔及其他華人社區。

The Chinese Community Services Centre (CCSC) mission is to build a stronger Chinese community by bringing Chinese residents together, and to provide assistance and services in a welcoming environment.

華人社區服務中心（CCSC）的使命在於凝聚華人居民，促進社群連結，以建立更具韌性與活力的華人社區，同時在友善且包容的環境中提供協助與各項服務。

This service club supports the Chinatown Care Centre, and a wide range of clubs, organizations and worthy causes including families and children, being an all women service organization, serving in Chinatown. The Chinatown Lionesses are aligned to ensure Chinatown remains vibrant and continues revitalization.

這個服務俱樂部支持華埠護理中心，並包括家庭和兒童在內的各種俱樂部、組織和值得 支持的事業，作為全女性的服務組織，致力於華埠的服務。華埠女獅會確保華埠保持活力 並持續振興。

The Victoria Foundation is a Canadian community foundation that manages charitable gifts to create funds from which grants are distributed for charitable and educational purposes. Established in 1936, it is one of the oldest and largest community foundations in Canada, working to connect donors with causes that strengthen communities in BC and across the country.

We have partnered with Masters of Community Planning students and Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region Research Institute students at Vancouver Island University.

Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region Research Institute, located at VIU, is dedicated to community engagement, relationship building and knowledge sharing. MABRRI focuses on research and community engagement initiatives primarily within the UNESCO-designated Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region, but also uphold VIU's Academic Research Plan by working on projects across Vancouver Island.

The MCP program at VIU combines research, applied learning through a variety of in-community, real-world projects, and interactions with the professional planning community to give you a wide range of skills and knowledge. This community planning program is fully accredited through the Canadian Institute of Planners, alongside Canada’s historic planning schools.

Founded on a shared passion for Asian culture, which plays a significant role in the city’s, province’s, and country’s history, the VCCA aims to promote business opportunities for Canadians of Chinese descent within the Canadian commercial marketplace.

The Federation of Canada-China Friendship Associations is the umbrella for the six CCFAs in Canada. We work closely with our sister association in China, the Chinese Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.  Every two years, representatives from CCFAs across Canada join with friendship groups from the Pacific Rim Countries as guests of the CPAFFC.  The purpose of these gatherings is to discuss the role and importance of friendship and to learn about some aspects of Chinese society not revealed in general tourism.

Various initiatives to enhance economic development in Victoria Chinatown, including leadership to secure cultural funds for the new Dragon Mural on the Yen Wo building exposed wall, upgrades to the Gate of harmonious Interest, Lanterns and Banners, new Victoria Chinatown logo decals.
